Upcoming Performances

After more than two years, the Capilano Flute Choir is pleased to be performing in public again! On Sunday, November 20, 2022 we played during the 10:00 AM service at Pacific Spirit United Church in Vancouver. And on Sunday, March 19, 2023 we performed at the Carnegie Centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Please check back for updates on performances scheduled during the year.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to have any public performances. In the fall of 2020, however, we completed our first virtual performance: Spem in Alium, a 40-part motet by Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis (1505 - 1585), arranged for 40 flutes + contrabass by British flutist, arranger, and recording artist Andy Findon. Flutists from across the country joined us in this project. Here is a link to the video on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCRVl6FZ9eE.

In the spring of 2021, we completed a second virtual performance, of the first movement (Allegro con brio) of Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827), arranged for flute choir by Fabio Barnaba.
